Beberapawaktu lalu, dr Eric Kasmara, SpOG dari RS Pondok Indah Puri Indah menjelaskan IUD merupakan benda asing, maka endometrium selalu dalam keadaan gelisah dan akhirnya menyebabkan terjadinya inflamasi atau peradangan. "Peradangan ini bukan karena ada bakteri tapi karena ada benda asing itu tadi. Menurutspesialis kebidanan dan kandungan dr Eric Kasmara, SpOG, ada beberapa indikasi medis yang membuat ibu tidak bisa melahirkan lewat persalinan normal sehingga harus melakukan operasi caesar. Dokter mata kemudian akan melihat risiko retina detached atau kerusakan retina. Apabila dikatakan aman, maka bisa dilakukan persalinan normal."Kalau lasik sebetulnya sesuatu yang berbeda karena targetnya kornea. Kecembungan kornea dimodifikasi tapi kecembungan bola mata dan lensa tetap ada, minusnya tetap tinggi. Jadi harus konsultasi ke dokter spesialis mata, kalau dikatakan risiko kecil bisa lanjut konsultasi ke dokter kandungan baiknya seperti apa," pungkas dr Eric.
